Marianne Côté

Sommelier - Host

Marianne is a sommelier who loves sharing her knowledge and passion for wine, beer and spirits.

She attended sommelier studies at Toronto’s George Brown College (GBC) where she graduated with Academic Honours through the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers. She is also accredited by the Court of Master Sommeliers (USA) and has passed with Distinction at level 3 of the WSET. In the meantime, she enrolled in the Professional Fromager program at GBC.

In Toronto, she worked at the Head Office of one of Canada’s Major Wine Agencies where she supported marketing in creating social media content, product launches and advertising campaigns. She also ran conferences and webinars on wine and food and wine pairings across Canada, and by night worked as a sommelier in a high-end steakhouse in downtown Toronto.

Back in Montréal, Marianne now works as the Head Sommelier in one of the city’s best gastronomic French restaurants.

An avid traveler, she also visited many European countries to explore their culinary culture, the people, the vineyards and their terroirs.

Curious by nature, Marianne loves discovering new things and trends. Beer and Scotch/Whiskey are two of them. She decided to travel to Scotland to learn more about Scotch, and then to the USA to explore the lovely world of Bourbons as well as craft beers. A beer lover, she makes sure she visits all the brewpubs and microbreweries where ever she goes.

SPECIALTIES

Whether it’s wine, beer, spirits or food and wine pairings, Marianne will share her contagious passion and pleasure of tasting and learning while having fun.
